About YOU

Before I give you my recommendations for how to use the Super 7 System for fitness and fat loss, you need to realize that I’m not “Doctor Doug,” at least not yet.  And, if your personal physician or physical therapist prescribes a specific exercise program for you to follow, for whatever reason, then, by all means, follow your doctor’s (or doctors’) orders instead.

You have to remember that you, and your doctor, know yourself a lot better than I do. And if you have a specific situation or specific health concern that supersedes the general principles that I’m covering for the general population, then, please, don’t listen to a word I say… at least not until you’re allowed to.

Even if you’re chompin’ at the bit to get started, hold your horses if that’s what you’re told to do.  The Super 7 System is a gradual, life-long program. And I’d rather have you take 7 months to progress through the first 7 weeks, if that’s what it takes to make it safe and sound for your situation.

I’ve actually had people wanting to start up one of my transformation programs at my fitness center, ready to pay many thousands of dollars for personal training, and I’ve turned them away until they were healthy enough to do so.  They weren’t always happy, sometimes quite unhappy, but better safe than sorry.

It’s always best to get checked out before you get worked out.  It’s all right if you need to “get in shape” a little bit first before you begin your actual workouts. If you have previous, existing, or potential medical issues, make sure you get them under control before things get out of control.  There should never be a rush to begin exercising before you’re medically cleared to do so.

So, if you ever go into a gym or fitness center and all they ask for you to do before you exercise is to sign a waiver of liability, then it’s obvious that they care more about themselves than they do you. That’s the popular way of doing things, not the right thing to do. Sorry, but that’s usually the case.

Anyway, jumping off my soapbox… as of right now, I don’t know anything about you or your current state of health… or your former state of health… or your goals.  I have no idea about your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, family history of cardiovascular disease, existing or potential metabolic diseases, like diabetes, or your habits of eating, drinking, or, worse yet, smoking… just to name a few.

Yes, unfortunately, some people actually do smoke before they workout.  If you don’t believe me, take a look on the ground outside the front entrance of any health club. Cardio does NOT counteract cigarettes.  In fact, since I brought it up, smoking before or after exercise, or before or after any activity, is an accident waiting to happen.  If you want to see why, you can watch this quick little video I made from “Puff the Magic Dragon in a land called Hanalei.”

OK, where were we?

The Super 7 System is serious business, and I want you to get the most out of it. But, most of all, I want you to get out of it. :-)

While any and all physical limitations or struggles you’re are dealing with right now are usually things that can either be worked around or worked through, it’s not up to me to determine when and how.  Please, talk to your doctors.  Tell them about the Super 7 System and about this guy named Doug who is asking for you to get their physicians’ permissions to exercise and eat healthy foods.

Actually, better yet, click the link on this page, open the form, fill it out, print it off, and PLEASE bring it to your doctor.  See what they think and see if they have any specific recommendations for you. They may surprise you.

If anything, at least I’d feel better knowing that you know what you’re dealing with before you start.
